Out of the Darkness Walk

« Back to All NewsOn October 2, 2016, the Saint John Vianney Center, represented by staff members from all departments, along with family and friends, participated in the 3-mile "Out of the Darkness" walk in Philadelphia to support suicide awareness, prevention and education. The walk was organized by The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, the leaders in the fight against suicide.

The community walks are held in hundreds of cities across the country to give people the courage to open up about their own struggle or loss, unite those who have been affected by suicide, and create communities that are smart about mental health. The AFSP funds research, creates educational programs, advocates for public policy, and supports survivors of suicide loss. To learn more about suicide and the AFSP go to afsp.org
